About the Aristocratica

Purchased in March 2010 by newlyweds Rupen and Rebecca Markarian, The Aristocratica is a 1966 Aristocrat Mainliner.  We don’t know much about her history except that she was briefly owned by another young couple before we found her on Craigslist and brought her home.  The registration had been expired since 1988 (a headache in and of itself) so we can only assume that she’s not been taken on any adventures recently.  On this blog you can follow our adventures restoring and traveling with her.  We’ll share the whole experience – the good, the bad and the really, really bad.  And when restoring a travel trailer that’s more than 40 years old, the really, really bad could get interesting.

If you’re a fan, a vintage trailer owner or just a passer-by, feel free to leave a comment, subscribe to the blog or just visit us whenever you like!

    Hello!
I, too, am an Aristocrat owner. Bought mine 4 years ago on ebay and picked it up in Modesto, California!
Mine is the 15′ (16′, depending on where you read the information) Lo Liner.
I had also contacted Rex re; emblems. He does great work and I need to get busy and order mine!
I am retired, disabled, single lady, so my renovations take a little longer! But I have had fun working on mine. Long way from finished!
I belong to Sisters on the Fly, although many things have prevented me from taking but one short trip! sistersonthefly.com has some amazing pictures of their little trailers.
I have bookmarked your site, as I love to follow the adventures of little trailers and their owners!
Check out Tin Can Tourists also for information and pictures.

    Happy camping!

We own a 1963 10′ Lil Loafer. We restored it a few years back and have taken it out on some really fun excursions, including trips to Jack’s Fork River and Bennet Springs, both a part of the great Missouri parks system. We are now on the second stage of our restoration, which will involve some fancy finishing touches–stripes on the side, moon hubcaps, a custom built hardwood table top. It’s a really happy camper. We get a lot of pleasure from fixing it up and taking it out and about!
